Well, since I sure as hell couldn't play sports, now I write about them. Been a journalist for 24 years-- been completely free-lance for 17 years -- write for The Sun, MLB.com, Wash. Jewish Week, Jewish Times, AP, various magazines and written 3 books (one on Cal Ripken, one on Orioles and one on the Ravens). It's pretty funny that i ended up a journalist since our newspaper advisor, Ms. Fowler, took many pains to repeatedly tell me that I just didn't have the ability to write during my one year on the school paper. I'm lucky because I get to enjoy what I do every day, and I'm grateful for that. I married Nadine Handwerger (class of 82) and have 2 great kids (Zach, who's 19 and Pikesville 2008) and Kara (who's 14 and starts Pikesville this fall).
